Sarah of Boo Roo and Tigger Too is sharing with us her beautiful 2016 Christmas Tree.
Real or Artificial Tree
Artificial, there is just something lovely about unpacking and putting together the Christmas tree each year. Like welcoming an old friend you haven’t seen all year.
My Christmas Tree Style
Eclectic is probably the best way to describe my tree style. Each year we have added a new decoration or two, so some match whilst other hold sentimental value. A mixture of blue, silver and purples adorn the main tree with blue and white lights, complete with tinsel (it’s not Christmas without tinsel).
My Tree Traditions
The main Christmas tree is mine, with I lovingly assemble and decorate. As it is the tree that everyone will see I have severe OCD about it. The children each have their own trees within their bedrooms which they can decorate however they see fit… As long as they don’t touch my tree!
My Special Decorations
I have a couple of ornaments that were given to me as gifts over the years (friends and family know how much I love my Christmas tree).A gold slipper from my best friend, which doesn’t match anything on my tree but always takes pride of place on there as my best friend has a matching one on her tree. A silver bell that jingles given to me by my husband and is always placed at the top of the tree. This year, I added red reindeers with each of the children’s names on, I placed them so it looks as though they are chasing each other across the tree.
Creating Christmas Magic Today during the Christmas Season
I love Christmas, for me, it is the build up to the big day that is more important than the actual opening of the presents. Creating Christmas magic in our family is the traditions that we hold like visiting Santa, taking a trip to our local garden centre to add to our decorations selection and sending hand written Christmas cards to family and friends that we might not have had a chance to catch up with during the year.
If you enjoyed reading about Sarah’s Christmas Tree, why not head over to her blog to discover about what she put in our Christmas Eve Box or why Santa should not get all the Glory. She even has a clever idea of how not to need endless amount of gift tags and shares it in her Preparing for Christmas Wrapping Paper post.
